Christina sent an email to Stuart in Perth with her phone number. He fell in love with her voice and made a 150-mile trip to Portgordon, Banffshire, to see her.The clincher was the mince and tatties she rustled up for the ex- Black Watch soldier on their first date, finished off with trifle.Former nurse Stuart courted Christina by webcam along with self-penned love poems by email and bunches of flowers.
After a series of 300-mile round trips, Stuart popped the question and moved in with Christina. The couple got married in Buckie register office with Christina making her big entrance to the tune Tutti Frutti.
Christina, a widow for 26 years, said: "I never thought I would get a second chance so I just took it."A delighted Stuart, whose first wife died almost three years ago, added: "It is pretty amazing."
